Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center steps up to bolster the hospital system’s growth and expansion

In a whirlwind year full of excitement at Children’s Health, the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Plano ramped up fundraising efforts to support the hospital system’s growth.

For more than 60 years, Auxiliary members across North Texas have devoted themselves to supporting the Children’s Health mission of making life better for children by volunteering, advocating and raising funds for its critical needs.

In 2024, the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Dallas announced a $5 million commitment for the $5 billion new Dallas pediatric campus, a joint investment with UT Southwestern Medical Center. The project is paramount for Auxiliary leaders, who said it will transform lives for children and families for generations to come.

“The services that this new hospital will be able to provide to people all over Texas and the country is going to be significant,” said Wynne Brown, president of the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Dallas. “We are so fortunate that it’s going to be in our backyard.”

North of Dallas, the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano prepared to celebrate the early completion of their $250,000 commitment.

Recognizing the hospital system’s efforts to meet the demands of North Texas’ rapidly growing pediatric populations, the Plano Auxiliary accelerated its fundraising endeavors to present their gift one year earlier.

In December, Children’s Health opened its 395,000-square-foot new patient tower at Children’s Medical Center Plano. The new tower tripled the campus’s bed capacity and expanded access to complex and critical care for families across North Texas and beyond.

“Children’s Health is a blessing for families to be able to get the care that they need as quickly as they can get it,” said Heather Lothes, president of the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano. “We’re thrilled to support the hospital system as it addresses the hypersonic growth we’re experiencing.”
