what’s behind the red balloon?
At Children’s Heath, the little balloon you see floating next to our name means a lot to us. Like many of our patients, this red balloon is small but powerful.
This red balloon has the ability to bring together the might of academic medicine and specialty expertise.
This red balloon inspires researchers to search for seemingly impossible discoveries that lead to possible cures for pediatric illnesses and diseases.
And in collaboration with our colleagues at UT Southwestern Medical Center, this red balloon is charting a course to build a healthier community for all North Texas children.
This is one mighty red balloon.
because of you, 2024 was a milestone year
Incredible. Extraordinary. Transformative. These are just a few words that not only sum up how amazing 2024 was, but also your profound impact on the Children’s Health mission to make life better for children.
Together, we achieved some huge milestones last year. Thanks to you, more than $220 million in philanthropic gifts were committed to this mission – the most ever raised in one year in the history of Children’s Health. In partnership with UT Southwestern, we made a game-changing announcement of a new $5 billion pediatric campus that will transform the pediatric landscape in North Texas for generations to come. In support of this new Dallas pediatric campus, we announced one of the largest donations in our history, a $100 million gift from the Pogue family. And then last fall, we broke ground on the campus encompassing more than 4.7 million square feet of construction and announced another $100 million gift from The Rees-Jones Foundation. This is the only nonprofit capital project in Texas ever to receive multiple nine-figure gifts. Now that’s incredible!
